2dFGRS Database - Catalogue Matching Powered_by_mSQL

1. Catalogue: Supply the URL and equinox of your catalogue file. The catalogue must be a text file containing a list of object names and positions separated by blanks, one object per line (e.g. OBJECT_NAME HH MM SS.SS -DD MM SS.S).

2. Matching radius: Give the maximum radius in arcseconds for matching objects in the two catalogues. Then hit SUBMIT to submit the query.

Matching radius: arcsec

NOTES

  • The returned file will list the object in the supplied catalogue followed by the name and angular separation in arcsec of any 2dFGRS objects within the search radius around each supplied object's position.
  • The results of the search will be returned as a gzipped ASCII file suitable for use as an input file for Find By Name queries.
  • The catalogue matching is performed against the full 2dFGRS input source catalogue, so that not all objects matched will necessariy be found using Find By Name, since that searches against objects in the 100k release.
