VOCat

VOCat is a stand alone tool which is used to convert astronomical catalogs to MySQL databases. VOCat can be used to create various views of the databases, to query them in various ways and to transfer query output directly to various tools and services like VOPlot, VOPlot3D, VOStat, SIMBAD, NED, Aladin and Cone Search. VOCat is PLASTIC compatible. The MySQL database can be present either on user's machine (localhost) or any web server (vo.iucaa.in).

VOCat has been developed as a part of the Virtual Observatory - India initiative by the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) and Persistent Systems Ltd. (PSL). The VO-I project is supported by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Government of India.
